the challenge
Flow State 2022 was Stack Overflow’s inaugural event, designed to discuss some of the biggest challenges and real-world best practices around attracting talent, easing onboarding, and growing expertise across teams. The client’s objective was to gather VP and C-level tech executives to better connect a tool their developers love and demonstrate the power of Stack Overflow to a wider audience.
the solution
Tasked with planning and producing an immersive experience, we needed to work on several key areas whilst ensuring our ideas stayed true to the client’s vision. Our team’s responsibilities included AV/production, logistics, speaker management and design aspects such as animations, digital signage, badges and swag. Alongside the main sessions and keynotes, we included additional activities for those in attendance, with the t-shirt activation station and 360 photo booths particularly being loved by many.
the result
The exclusive conference took place at downtown Manhattan’s Convene and virtually online, allowing anybody to join from any part of the world. 200 people attended Flow State 2022 in person with 5,000 others joining virtually—with sessions available on-demand for those who were unable to tune in live.
An inspiring line-up of speakers included Dr Gloria Mark (Chancellor’s professor of Informatics at University of California, Irvine), Clive Thompson (Technology & Science Journalist at WIRED), Sally Bolig (Global Head of Employer Brand at Etsy), Maggie Hulce (Executive VP, GM of Enterprise at indeed.com).
The event ran smoothly with both the in-person and virtual audiences being engaged throughout the day. With technology demos, networking opportunities, and lots of valuable content, Flow State 2022 was a must-see for any tech executive.
testimonial
“With a short turnaround time and high expectations, we partnered with emc3 to deliver our inaugural customer conference. The event was extremely well-received giving us a launchpad to grow the conference in the coming years. This would not have been possible without the hard work of the emc3 team.” — Matt Bohn, Events and Experiences, Stack Overflow
