The challenge
As a global leader in AI-powered low-code application development, OutSystems empowers organisations to innovate faster and build software that transforms how they operate. Each year, OutSystems One brings that mission to life – uniting developers, partners, and business leaders from around the world to explore what’s next in technology, community, and growth.
For 2025, the flagship moved to Lisbon – home to the company’s global headquarters and the symbolic heart of the brand. The ambition was clear: create an elevated experience that reflected OutSystems’ evolving vision, strengthened the connection between its technical and business communities, and celebrated the culture of innovation that defines the company.
Planning began in February, but midway through, a newly appointed CEO joined the organisation, bringing fresh energy and direction. This shift prompted a complete creative rethink, allowing us to reimagine the event’s design and flow to better align with the company’s renewed vision. Working in close partnership with OutSystems, we translated that direction into the event’s creative environment, audience journey, and overall experience.

The solution
Lisbon provided the opportunity to reimagine OutSystems One as both a community summit and a statement of brand ambition – uniting the company’s developer and business audiences under one roof in its hometown for the first time.
The venue, FIL, presented a very different challenge to previous editions. Unlike the purpose-built convention centres used before, FIL was a true blank canvas – an open industrial space that required a complete transformation. Every detail, from plant installations to flooring, carpet, furniture, lighting and large-scale architectural features, was designed and built from scratch to create a fully immersive environment.
Working from this foundation, we designed a layout built around clarity and flow. Attendees entered through a vibrant expo hall featuring sponsor activations, OutSystems product zones and live demo areas before transitioning seamlessly into plenary sessions.
The plenary opened with high-impact sessions from industry leaders and OutSystems executives, followed by a series of AI-focused case studies and technical deep dives. Afternoon sessions split into developer and business tracks, with six concurrent breakouts running in parallel – each tailored to its audience and maintaining a strong balance between strategic insight and practical application.
Creatively, the event identity was developed by OutSystems, and our role was to ensure it was flawlessly executed across every element of the experience. We extended the visual system through stage design, motion graphics, digital signage and spatial design – uniting every zone under one consistent look and feel.
The centrepiece of the plenary was a 75-metre translucent screen wall – a striking architectural feature that became a focal point of the environment, blending light, movement and storytelling into a single visual experience.
Behind the scenes, Cvent heat-mapping technology tracked attendee flow and dwell time, providing actionable data that validated the floor plan and informed design improvements for future editions. Sustainability remained integral to every decision, with locally sourced materials, efficient production, and low-impact logistics. Hosting the event in Lisbon also reduced overall travel for staff, partners and suppliers, lowering the environmental footprint while reconnecting the experience to the brand’s roots.

The result
OutSystems One Lisbon brought together more than 3,500 attendees, reflecting the strength and engagement of the OutSystems community.
Hosting the event in the company’s home city created more than convenience; it restored a sense of authenticity and connection, as well as significantly reducing travel requirements and contributing to a lower environmental footprint overall.
The event successfully combined scale with focus, insight with interactivity. Data from Cvent heat-mapping validated the effectiveness of the new floor plan and content design, while post-event feedback highlighted the seamless delivery, strong sense of community and quality of content.
