Purpose

We are experiencing significant growth and are seeking a passionate Junior Video Editor/Motion Designer to join our creative team.

This role demands a strong visual eye, a collaborative mindset, and an eagerness to refine your skills while helping shape our visual narrative in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • In-House & Marketing Content: Own and support the production of video and motion content for our internal channels, crafting engaging social media videos, case studies, promotional materials, and internal brand communications.
  • New Business & RFPs: Collaborate closely with Strategy, Marketing, and Design teams to craft compelling motion graphics, sizzle reels, and visual assets for pitch decks and proposal documents to support client acquisition.
  • Client Project Execution: Support the Senior Video/Motion Designer on client deliverables, editing rough and final cuts for event sessions, engaging wrap-up videos, and dynamic on-site or virtual event motion assets.
  • Concept Development & Storyboarding: Assist in preparing concepts, storyboards, style frames, and visual prototypes for internal marketing campaigns, video pitches, and client projects under senior guidance.
  • Asset Sourcing & Management: Source, format, and organize stock footage, audio tracks, dialogues, sound effects, and graphic elements, ensuring media libraries are prepped for efficient production workflows.
  • Quality Control & Brand Consistency: Ensure all video and motion output is executed to high creative standards, strictly maintaining brand consistency across both internal emc3 marketing and client brand guidelines.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work seamlessly with the Senior Motion/Video Designer, Head of Design, Design & Content team, and Marketing leads, actively taking on feedback and communicating effectively across departments.
  • Trend Research & Innovation: Stay up to date on industry trends, social media formats, design trends, and video innovations to continuously present fresh concepts for agency self-promotion and prospective client work.
  • Professional Development: Actively participate in mentorship and feedback sessions with senior team members, continually building your technical expertise in motion design, colour grading, and audio post-production.

Personal Specification

  • Education: A degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Film Production, Animation, Motion Graphics, or a related field.
  • Experience & Portfolio: A strong showreel or portfolio demonstrating foundational skills in video editing and motion design.
  • Creative Software: Proficiency in core Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Familiarity with Figma, Blender or Cinema 4D would be advantageous.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of frame rates, video formats, codecs, aspect ratios (especially for social channels), basic audio mixing, and colour correction standards.
  • Visual Storytelling & Creativity: Strong visual eye for composition, typography, timing, and storytelling, with a genuine interest in crafting content that drives marketing engagement and prospective client impact.
  • Communication & Mindset: Excellent communication skills with an open, proactive mindset toward taking constructive creative direction and feedback.
  • Project & Review Tools: Familiarity with video review platforms (e.g., Frame.io) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Monday.com).
  • Presentation Software: Basic proficiency in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Pitch for integrating motion elements into presentation decks.
