On Thursday the 30th of June, we went to the CN Agency Awards. An industry award show hosted by Conference News that’s dedicated to showcasing the best of the best in the events industry. This includes agencies, both new and established, in addition to those making moves in innovation and sustainability.
We were attending as we had been nominated for 4 awards—and when the industry is so busy, it’s nice to stop, take a breath and reflect on everything you’ve achieved so far as a team.
Unfortunately, the whole team couldn’t make it—for an exciting reason—as the majority were onsite. Creating 16 events across 16 cities takes a few pairs of hands, as I’m sure you can imagine! But Josh, Imogen and Amy were available, and so after taking the brand new Elizabeth line (which gets an honourable mention because who would have thought taking the tube would be considered convenient AND enjoyable) off we went to celebrate.
The theme for this year’s #CNAA22 awards was Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, and it was hosted at the East Wintergarden venue in Canary Wharf. As we went into the venue we were greeted with welcome drinks and on-brand entertainment, including edible bubbles, candies and decorated archways, fountains and an assortment of trees.
After saying hello to our industry colleagues it was time to take our seats for the awards show to kick off. There was live entertainment followed by a speech from Martin Fullard, the Editorial Director of Conference News and event host and then it was time for food—where we were served:
With plenty of entertainment in between to keep us entertained, including singers, dancers and a hoop dancer.
Then it was time for the awards and…
*drumroll please*
WE WON THREE!
We won:
Global Agency of the Year
Grand Prix
And our Sales and Marketing Director, Josh King, won Salesperson Of The Year—for the second year running! Who, when asked for a quote, said:
“To be honest, my job’s fairly easy because I’m surrounded by a team of incredible people. It’s been amazing to onboard some of the world’s biggest brands over the last 12 months such as Google, Twilio, Miro and Gong—but ultimately, it all comes down to the team and I can’t wait to see what the next 12 months has in store for us all!”
It’s fair to say we were thrilled with our wins!
We were up against some tough competition and it was amazing to be recognised for our achievements, growth and creativity with the incredible things our team are doing. None of it would be possible without them, and it’s their hard work and dedication which make us the award-winning event agency we are today.
Here’s to seeing what the rest of 2022 has in store!
