what you’ll be doing

We’re going through an exciting period of growth, helping clients across the world bring their stories to life through the power of events, and we’re looking for someone brilliant to help us to do that. So, if you’re an experienced Bookkeeper we need you!

The purpose of the Bookkeeper role at emc3 is to manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s financial activities. The bookkeeper is responsible for handling transactions, performing reconciliations, assisting with payroll, and supporting budgeting and reporting processes, all while ensuring compliance and contributing to the overall financial health of the business.

This role will involve:

Monitor inbox and respond to emails as necessary

  • Process purchase ledger invoices in Procim and Xero
  • Sales ledger 
  • Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations for the group of companies
  • Manage team expenses (review and approve)
  • Post monthly overheads prepayments and accruals
  • Prepare & schedule payment-runs
  • Prepare internal costs reports
  • Working closely with Finance team to prepare VAT returns
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
  • Submit pension file
  • Support Finance team on ad-hoc reports and tasks
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager in month-end and year-end closing processes

what you’ll need

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero and MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with UK financial regulations and tax requirements is a plus
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field preferred
