Purpose

We are experiencing significant growth and are seeking a talented Midweight Digital Designer/Developer to contribute their technical and creative expertise in maintaining and evolving our internal web properties while also shaping the visual narrative of our internal marketing and communications across experiential group. As a Midweight Developer & Graphic Designer, you’ll be instrumental in developing and maintaining the visual and technical integrity of internal digital tools, ensuring all creative and technical executions nail our vision and business objectives. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders from across the entire group, you’ll help evolve development front-end and back-end solutions and internal graphic design for internal teams, then bringing them to life by implementing them across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency and relevance for each brand within the group. This role demands a sharp technical and visual eye, a collaborative mindset, and a knack for generating impactful development and design solutions that resonate with diverse internal team members.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

Concept Development and Implementation
  • Generate innovative concepts and ideas that resonate with the target audience.
  • Develop and implement finished front-end and back-end solutions for internal web needs.
  • Implementing finished branding concepts across all internal areas including digital and social media, ensuring all group brands are accurately represented and within their varied brand guidelines.
Web Maintenance
  • Evolve, maintain, and communicate a clear front-end and back-end technical vision for internal web projects and tools, under the guidance of the Design and Marketing leads.
  • Oversee the development, design layout, and visual impact of internal web properties, digital assets, marketing materials, and publications across the group.
RFPs & Pitch Decks
  • Contribute visually to the ideation of concepts, helping to shape narratives and storytelling for pitches.
  • Collaborating with Design, Tech, Content, and Strategy teams across the group to ensure brand application is visually compelling and supports internal efforts, owning the impact and consistency of pitch decks to ensure that the finished pitch deck is cohesive and visually striking.
Project Oversight
  • You’ll be involved in the entire creative and development process, from initial brainstorming to final execution, ensuring projects align with the brand and are delivered on time. While often collaborating with and reporting to the Creative Lead or Head of Department, you will also have opportunities to lead the visual and technical execution of specific internal projects.
Leadership Development
  • You will be working underneath the Creative, Marketing and Design department Heads and reporting directly to our Senior Designer.
  • We’ll support your growth, empowering you to confidently lead internal design projects and provide guidance to freelance and other team members as your role and confidence evolves.
Internal Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders from across the group to understand their goals and expectations, presenting creative and technical concepts and solutions.
Quality Control
  • Maintain high creative and technical standards and ensure the final output meets or exceeds internal expectations.
Project Management
  • You will work closely with the Design Project Managers to adhere to deadlines and budgets, and ensure that the project is delivered effectively.
Market Research
  • Stay updated on industry trends, web and AI best practices, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to inform creative strategies.
Brand Consistency
  • Ensure that all creative output, web development and graphics are consistent with each brand’s identity and messaging within the group.
Internal Creative Work
  • Help to lead on all creative elements for internal projects, signing off all creative output alongside Sales and Strategy.

Personal Specification

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Software Engineering, Information Technology, advertising, marketing, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or relevant certifications can be beneficial.

Design & Development Experience

We’re looking for an experienced Midweight Designer looking to really own internal comms, being the standard-bearer for our brand integrity. Previous experience in a UI/UX role is preferred.

Development skills

Demonstrated knowledge of digital processes. Essential experience in web development (strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript) for creating and maintaining internal tools and sites, with familiarity in WordPress theme/plugin development and using related tools like ACF/Gutenberg. Knowledge of responsive design and version control (Git) would be advantageous, along with a good understanding of SEO.

Graphic Design skills

Proficiency in creative software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma for designing and implementing digital assets. with a comprehensive understanding of design, copy, web best practices/guidelines and layouts.

Brand knowledge
  • A strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts. Experience in working brand guidelines is a must. Experience managing multiple brand identities within a single group structure is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort interacting with a range of stakeholders across the business from project manager to CEO.
Project Management Tools

Familiarity with project management software like Asana, Trello, or Monday.com for overseeing design and development projects.

Presentation Software

Tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Pitch or Google Slides for creating and delivering presentations.
