Events account director

In 1999 a high-level concierge service was founded in a basement apartment in Notting Hill. In the decades since, the business has evolved into an international full-service agency that has earned itself a globally recognised track record of delivering some of the most impactful and innovative experiences around for clients such as LinkedIn, Gong and VeeFriends. what you’ll be doing

Purpose of the role will be to:

  • Lead our high growth and complex accounts to ensure continuous growth year on year.
  • To drive the client accounts forward, in turn driving revenue and maximising opportunities across emc3.
  • Work closely with project leads to ensure project is delivered against budget, objectives and to agreed timescales.
  • To have full ownership of event budgets and responsible for maintaining and where possible exceeding target GP.
  • Build lasting relationships with our clients and understand what motivates them, what keeps them up at night.
  • Achieve account growth targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build out and maintain account plans with growth objectives per quarter.
  • Continuously build strong client relationships.
  • Have continuous & up to date knowledge of latest event (live & virtual) offerings that can be provided by the company.
  • Leading on new client briefs and new sales calls for high value accounts.
  • Leading on event strategy.
  • Proposing a range of technical and production solutions in line with client strategy and objectives.
  • Leading on industry knowledge and relevant strategy for accounts in developing their offering and solutions
  • Demonstrate a true understanding of account development plans and forecasts of growth.
  • Drive the events team to maximize all potential revenue opportunities including upselling throughout the event cycle.
  • Work closely with project leads to ensure project is delivered against budget, objectives and to agreed timescales.
  • First approval on all their client budgets & contracts, before submitting for final approval from Ops.
  • Responsible for bringing in new business on existing accounts & new sales calls.
  • Ensure content is collated on all events for social media and marketing purposes.

what you’ll need

Sales experience
  • Full ownership of client communication up until an SOW being signed.
  • Maintained oversight on multiple accounts and potential growth within them.
  • Led pitches – taking full ownership of the pitch deck.
  • Built and led multiple Client relationships.
  • Understand client business strategy to drive growth.
  • Being a proactive partner to clients and advising on strategy and best practices where suitable
  • Ownership of account profit and annual forecasting
Pre-Event experience
  • Full ownership of project initiation stage including:
  • Leading kick off calls & collating client brief
  • Delegating clear roles and responsibilities to the team
  • Writing & finalising the client SOW and PSA.
  • Internal eye for the client, ensuring we deliver beyond expectation.
  • Prior to a project kick off, been responsible for managing cross departmental processes within a Design Studio.
Budget experience
  • Responsible & accountable for the budget throughout the entire project ensuring it is accurate, efficient, and up to date at all times.
  • An understanding of all sections of the budget items in a real time basis, including but not limited to the below:
    • Cost, profit, and suppliers
    • Making sure budgets are up to date in preparation for weekly workload calls.
    • Wrap up within 1-2 weeks of the event making sure that all PO’s have been signed off, timesheets from freelancers.
Post event experience
  • Ensuring case study is completed for marketing purposes.
  • Ensure internal and external debriefs are carried out in a timely manner and takeaways are communicated and actioned.
A passport and the right to travel

The ability to travel (both nationally and internationally) is a crucial component of this position—therefore you’ll need an up-to-date passport. Due to international clients, some flexibility and evening work is expected, however, we will always provide notice of this.
