The challenge
BSR’s Annual Conference was their first-ever hybrid event, and the first time since 2019 that an audience was able to attend in person. The purpose of the conference was to allow those in attendance to experience three days of cutting-edge research, symposia, and exhibitions whilst learning about the latest developments in rheumatology from field experts.
The solution
As the conference was BSR’s first hybrid event, we guided hybrid-related elements, supporting with the production of 7 different rooms whilst simultaneously streaming to the virtual platform. The production required us to assist with providing adequate internet to create a similar experience for both in-person and virtual attendees. We also communicated with various suppliers to bring everything together and created on-demand content for viewers to watch after the conference had concluded.
The result
The final result was a success, with over 2,000 total attendees joining to share research and network with like-minded people. The event featured 220+ presentations from 100 speakers from across the world, five in-person workshops, and three online live Q&As. Over 4,000 messages were sent across all sessions illustrating the huge engagement that the virtual platform attained. The event received great feedback from attendees and a positive response from the client who was delighted with the overall outcome and will likely use a hybrid set-up in their future events.
