The challenge

OutSystems approached us after one of their executives attended one of the INBOUND conferences we produced, recognising the potential for a similarly impactful experience tailored to their needs. They aimed to create a high-energy conference to drive platform adoption among existing clients, support developers in advancing their skills, and expedite their sales cycles. The timing aligned with OutSystems’ goals to showcase their latest advancements in Generative AI and low-code development, and to empower their ecosystem of customers, prospects, and partners.

Key objectives included expanding product usage across existing accounts, accelerating sales cycles by 50% for key prospects, and upskilling developers through technical sessions and certifications. These objectives targeted measurable impacts, such as influencing new opportunities, increasing partner-driven registrations, and certifying developers on-site to foster deeper technical engagement with the platform.

The solution

For this event, we provided full-scale event management encompassing everything from technical production, registration, and exhibition design to managing venue logistics and catering. We worked closely with OutSystems and their 36 sponsors, ensuring each exhibition stand, session, and touchpoint aligned with OutSystems’ branding and values. Our content team also collaborated on promotional copy for emails and social posts, while our design team crafted assets to engage attendees across digital channels.

This event emphasised the power of Generative AI and low-code development, with tailored sessions for developers and business leaders. Key content covered GenAI’s impact on efficiency and growth, ODC modern delivery methodologies, and technical topics like domain-driven design, scaling software, and legacy modernisation. By designing these interactive experiences, emc3 helped generate stronger connections and expand OutSystems’ influence in their community.

The result

The conference succeeded in meeting OutSystems’ goals, with exceptional registration numbers across customers, prospects, and partners. Weekly calls kept all stakeholders aligned, and emc3’s master logistics deck streamlined decision-making and visual presentations. Audience engagement was high, with attendees actively participating in networking sessions, roundtables, and certifications, all contributing to meaningful connections and an engaged developer community.

Strong on-site communication and trust between the OutSystems and emc3 teams ensured a seamless experience.
