Purpose

The Proposal Content Lead drives the strategic narrative of client proposals, crafting clear, compelling value propositions that differentiate emc3 in competitive pitches. Working across creative, technical, and project teams, from concept to delivery, ensuring content is cohesive, visually engaging, and aligned with client needs and brand standards.

By blending creative storytelling with practical insight, the Proposal Content Lead turns a brief into a compelling, differentiated, emotionally engaging story that aligns client objectives, business strategy, and creative ambition.


Overall Responsibilities

  • Leads proposal content strategy, setting the tone and structure to stand out from the competition
  • Owns the “red thread” of each proposal — defining the overarching theme, throughline, and value proposition from kick-off to delivery
  • Elevates storytelling through impactful visuals — works with Creative and Design team to guide the development of graphics, callouts, and themes that bring ideas to life
  • Coaches and inspires team members in effective storytelling techniques to strengthen proposals and amplify their impact
  • Balances creativity with practicality — an understanding of technical production capabilities and associated costs would be helpful to ensure that solutions for clients are achievable whilst innovative

Day-to-day Responsibilities

Explore
  • Leads the strategic interpretation of client briefs and RFPs
  • Analysis of proposal requirements with Account lead, including identifying objectives and assessment criteria
  • Takes responsibility for targeted research
  • Defines the win strategy, value proposition, and persuasive positioning
Refine
  • Works with Creative, Technical, and Client teams to shape the solution story
  • Ensures content developed is brief specific
  • Acts as the lead storyteller, shaping clear, compelling narratives that align with client needs and strategic goals
  • Works with Creative and Technical to define the production approach
  • Develops end-to-end storyboards that map the attendee experience from first touchpoint through arrival, live moments, content flow, and post-event engagement
  • Shapes the production and delivery narrative, ensuring the storyboarded experience is feasible, scalable, and on-budget
  • Regular check-ins on timelines, visuals, clear structure, meeting client objectives
  • Ensures the proposed solution is:
    • Strategically relevant
    • Commercially credible
    • Creatively differentiated
    • Logically coherent
Deliver
  • Quality control, ensuring accuracy of all proposals before approval by ADM and VP Growth/ VP of Cx
  • Defines how the pitch should be told live: flow, roles, sequencing, emphasis
  • Shapes pitch decks and presentation logic (in partnership with Creative and Proposal Development)
  • Coaches presenters to tell a clear, confident, compelling story
  • Attendance at client pitches as appropriate
  • Ultimately ensures the proposal exceeds client expectations
Collaborate
  • Partners with:
    • Creative team on concept and experience
    • Technical team on feasibility and delivery logic
    • Client Account team on business strategy and objectives
  • Acts as the strategic conscience of the pitch, not just the narrator
Knowledge & IP Development
  • Understands emc3’s services
  • Understands emc3’s brand strategy and always apply its principles
  • Helps build and evolve emc3’s pitch methodologies, story frameworks, and narrative tools
  • Captures learning from wins and losses to improve future performance

Required Skills & Experience

  • Copywriting
  • Experience in analysing client needs and tailoring solutions to exceed expectation
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Creative, Design, Technical) and external stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating between teams, managing client expectations, and preparing pitches
  • Exceptional storytelling, narrative structuring, and persuasive communication skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial awareness
  • Able to balance ambition with feasibility and credibility
  • Strong quality control to ensure proposal accuracy and alignment with client objectives.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs
  • Assisting with and occasionally leading client pitch presentations
  • Experience operating at Executive Producer level in the events industry, overseeing creative visions, production delivery, budgets and senior stakeholders or,
  • Proven experience in a similar role within events, marketing, or related industries
